As the owner of a contracting business, you already know that managing your jobsite activities, administrative tasks, and pipeline of new jobs is a significant challenge. We at Knowify stress that doing a great job at the first two – and really showing off your professionalism – can help with the third, since happy clients can often help drive new business through referrals. But there are many other things contractors can do to source leads, and one critically overlooked sales tool in our industry (don’t cringe!) is social media. An active social media presence is an easy way to stand out from the competition, while also making your business more visible and accessible to prospective clients.Continue Reading
Did you know that there are only 5 things every business owner needs to focus on in order to grow the bottom line? More importantly, do you know what they are? It is nearly impossible to make it through a day without encountering an eye-roll-inducing product claim. You know the kind: Younger! Smarter! Healthier! Richer! Marketing language has extended so far into the realm of the preposterous that most of us are immune to it.
But it’s one thing to make a claim, and another thing entirely to back it up with numbers. We here at Knowify have long promised productivity increases – but what does that mean exactly? Is it a soft, wishy-washy claim that you’ll feel more organized and ‘productive’, but mostly business will roll on as usual? Or does it mean a significant change in your business processes in a way that will lead to efficiency, growth, and (hopefully) business transformation? Here’s what the data have to say:
Companies take on 20% more jobs by the end of their first yearContinue Reading

The office side of the business is frequently unloved in construction. We like to joke that nobody ever got into construction so they could sit at a desk working on spreadsheets all day. Because construction guys would much rather be in the field, they often develop little workarounds to make the office side of things faster – but as with any workaround, they give up something in the process.Continue Reading
You may have already heard by now that our mobile app is really awesome! It has the ability to track employee time with GPS functionality and can capture photos of receipts. But what good is an incredible app if not everyone on your team is using it? We have noticed a disconnect between the office and workers on the field in understanding where your employees stand on their mobile onboarding. We are ready and eager to bridge this gap and create easy communication – we even went as far as adding a Spanish option- ¡de nada!Continue Reading

We’re excited to share that Knowify has been selected to participate in the inaugural UrbanTech program run by DreamIt, one of the top startup accelerators in the world.
At the center of the program is a major, multi-billion-dollar construction project in Tampa Bay: the revitalization of the Tampa Bay waterfront. Over the next several years, you will see new office towers, apartments, infrastructure, and public facilities, and a vibrant new district will emerge when now underutilized space and buildings exist. Your can learn more about this project here.
The entire project has embraced technology from the get-go, from the use of advanced green materials, to Sim-City like technologies that help planners visualize pedestrian and traffic flows. The waterfront revitalization project is turning into much more than a construction project – it’s a glimpse into the future of how cities will be built, managed, and sustained.
For our part, we will be working closely with the large GCs on the project to try to bring our powerful tools to their subcontractors, with the aim of improving GC/Sub communication and reducing the administrative burden subs face on the job. Thank you DreamIt for the opportunity!
See you all in Tampa!
