Once you’re in edit mode, you can add a new job phase to track costs for a subcontractor. After you add the job phase, give it a name, and under the Associated Deliverable drop-down, select your change order. Once you’re finished, be sure to click Switch To Active Mode at the bottom of the page:

This will help you track costs and run reports for your change order, since you can now allocate labor and materials to this job phase.

You can also use this process to budget your costs for a change order and/or markup your costs to price out your change order.

  1. Create your change order in the contract, but click Save As Draft with the price still at $0
  2. Navigate back to the Plan&Track section and follow the steps above to create a job phase that is pointing to the change order
  3. While in Edit Mode, use the job phase to estimate labor/materials costs
