Using the Bill of Materials to Track Costs

If you use the Breakdown or Bill of Materials feature in Knowify when creating contracts, this information can be carried over to your Plan & Track section to place Purchase Orders and track hours and materials against estimated quantities. To start, we’ll create a line item with Materials and Labor (this can also be automated with Service Templates!):

Once the project is active, go to the Plan & Track section where you’ll see a prompt asks “Would you like to use the contract breakdown as budgets for this job?” which, when clicked, carries this information into the phase:

Then once the Plan & Track is switched to Active mode again, you can create a PO simply by clicking “Order Materials”:

And all hours will be tracked against the estimated quantities:
